How do I know which class is right for my child?

Our junior programs follow the USTA Player Development Pathway, using age-appropriate Red, Orange, and Green Ball stages to help players develop their skills progressively. Classes are organized by age, experience, and stage of development. Each program listing identifies the appropriate age and skill level, and if you’re unsure where your child belongs, contact us and we’ll help determine the best placement.


Does my child need prior tennis experience?

No. We offer programs for beginners as well as returning and developing players. Each class is structured around the appropriate age and skill level.


 What does my child need to bring to class?

Players should bring a tennis racquet, athletic shoes, comfortable clothing, and water. Tennis balls and other instructional equipment are provided.


What size racquet should my child use?

Junior racquets come in different sizes based primarily on a player’s age and height. Use our Junior Racquet Size Guide to find the appropriate size:

What happens if an outdoor class is canceled because of weather?

Registered participants will be notified of weather-related cancellations and any applicable makeup information. Policies may vary by program and location.


Can Pop-Up Tennis Academy offer programs at my school, park, or facility?

Yes. We work with schools, park districts, community centers, gyms, and other organizations. Programs can be offered on traditional tennis courts or in suitable indoor and outdoor spaces. Visit our Bring Tennis to Your Facility” page for more information.


Do you offer adult tennis classes?

Yes! Adult programming is available at select locations and may include Cardio Tennis, group instruction, and other adult tennis programs. Offerings vary by location and season, so check our Programs & Registration page for current options.
